“WE’RE KNOWN AS A CHRISTMAS BAND…”
So one member claimed about 20 minutes into the show, yet you wouldn’t know it. The tour is called “Sleighing It”, it was December 3rd, the poster had them all frolicking in the snow, every single piece of merch they were selling was Christmas themed. And. Yet. The entire first half of the show was uninspired pop medleys. I could hear everyone around me turning to the person next to them, asking them if they were going to do any Christmas music. Right before intermission, they said they’d be doing their Christmas set in the second half. Cool. Honestly, by the time they got to anything I actually wanted to hear, I was partially checked out. Which fit pretty well, since the band seemed to stop caring once we got to the part of the show everyone clearly came to see. If you’re tired of being a “Christmas band”, fine, do other things, but don’t hold people hostage and force them to listen to your terrible compilation of Taylor Swift songs under the guise of a Christmas show.
